Frequently Asked Questions: Kayak Tours

Do I need kayak experience? No. The Hobie Cat pedal kayaks are excellent for beginners. Our guides begin each tour with a boat safety orientation and ensure guests are comfortable with the kayak before launch. The operation of the kayak does not require a paddle - you steer and power with your feet!

What should I wear? Wear clothes that will be comfortable on the water. Lightweight, quick-dry materials are best in the event you get a splash or two (avoid wearing cotton). Hats and sunglasses are a great idea. We provide splash tops and bottoms along with neoprene booties. All guests will be provided a PFD (personal floatation device) to wear at all times while on the water.

What can I bring on the kayak? Each Hobie Cat kayak is equipped with a small dry storage compartment. Sunscreen and a camera will fit nicely.

What about food? We will provide bottled water and snacks on all tours. You may bring along additional snacks or nonalcoholic beverages if you choose. Full-day tours additionally include breakfast and lunch.

Are children allowed on tours? Children aged 8 and up are welcome on all of our tours. On a group tour, children aged 8-15 must be in a tandem kayak with an adult. On private tours, children aged 8-12 must be in a tandem kayak with an adult.

Are there any additional fees? Park entry fees and fishing licenses (when needed) are not included in tour cost.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We understand that plans can change, and we have structured our cancellation policy to offer some flexibility while ensuring fairness.

  • Full Refund: If you cancel your reservation more than 72 hours before the scheduled start time, you are eligible for a full refund.

  • Partial Refund: If you cancel your reservation between 48 and 72 hours before the scheduled start time, you are eligible for a 50% refund.

  • No Refund: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time are not eligible for a refund.
